Bespoke Boat Building and Fitting
Here at Norton Canes we're proud not to be a 'production line' boatyard. We generally build just one bespoke new build narrowboat a year, where the focus is on creating a unique vessel, which will be treasured by our happy customers, and a genuine source of pride for our boatyard staff. All the other projects at our boatyard are refurbishments and partial fit-outs.
If you choose to build or re-fit your boat at our historic Glascote boatyard, you'll be in safe hands. Our helpful and realistic advice, guidance, and design input, and our skilled, experienced team, boasting decades of experience, will take you all the way from an initial concept through to the ultimate launch of your own stunning bespoke narrowboat.
We don't ever want to churn out an endless series of boring, unoriginal boats - no two Norton Canes boats look the same. Every detail is designed to meet your individual requirements, and every feature is fully customisable, from baseplate to button fender, and from floorplan to finishing touch.
Our fit-outs are based on exacting standards, ensuring that every vessel that leaves our boatyard is both practical and beautiful. Our work is renowned for its superior quality. Glowing reviews in the waterways press testify to our reputation for exceptional workmanship. We use high quality materials, and all our cabinetry is completely bespoke, hand-made, and beautifully fitted. We take as much care on the bits you can't see as on those you can, and you'll love running your hands over our beautifully smooth varnish.
We are currently creating a new self-service quoting calculator. In the meantime, to discuss your requirements and obtain a detailed specification for a gold standard fit-out and a wide range of optional extras, please contact our office and ask to speak to Sarah.
We currently have two complete builds in progress, so our next slot is in 2027. Partial fit-outs and refurbishments can be more flexible, so please contact us to discuss your plans, and we'll see what we can do to help you.
