Crick Boat Show 2025

Vampirate Wins Favourite Boat in Show at Crick Boat Show 2025

This year’s Crick Boat Show was a busy affair for Norton Canes. We took two boats to the show: our latest build, Vampirate and a two year old build, Musetta. The show ended on a high note as our bespoke build, Vampirate, was awarded the coveted “Favourite Boat in Show.” This honour is awarded annually to a narrowboat chosen by the public and celebrates excellence in design, craftsmanship, and innovation in narrowboat building. In this instance, Vampirate stood out for its perfect balance of striking, individual style and exceptional quality of workmanship — a combination that clearly captivated everyone who saw her. After months of meticulous planning and intense work, our team successfully completed Vampirate just in time for the show. All the effort paid off, as Vampirate was met with enthusiastic responses from visitors and experts alike. A notable departure from our team’s usual style, Vampirate showcases the unique and distinctive personalities of its owners, Trish and Euan. The design was created in close collaboration with them, with their clear vision shaping the project. Their trust in the team’s expertise ensured that the boat reflected their aspirations for life afloat. We would like to express our appreciation for everyone involved, including our talented team and trusted suppliers. This award is a tribute to their skill, dedication, and teamwork.
